Dan was raised in Colorado and made his home in Virginia in 1991, the same year he began his foray into brewing. In the last seven years he has established himself as a prolific brewer and passionate beer historian receiving several accolades the most recent being a Gold Medal for his British Pale Ale at the Virginia Beer Blitz. He is active in Colonial Ale Smiths and Keggers, The American Homebrewers Association, Master Brewers Association and The Brewers Association. Top of his class at Oklahoma University’s Brewing Chemistry program. Dan is a student of the World Brewing Academy, Portland State University’s Brewery Management program and Cicerone Certified. His brewing style is to create beers that are approachable, flavorful yet distinct with an occasional off the wall offering.
Andy Beale is a Newport News native, residing in Virginia Beach since 2006. He developed a passion for craft beer during the creation of a charity event, Battle of the Beers, which is hosted by his non-profit organization, Beach Ambassadors. Andy looks forward to bringing his business experience to the blossoming craft beer industry, and providing the Virginia Peninsula with a high quality craft beer producer and entertainment venue. In his down time, Andy prefers to be on the banks of Lake Gaston, the shores of Virginia Beach, or any golf course in between.
Gray brings a diverse knowledge of operational management, customer service, and hospitality know-how to Tradition Brewing. His startup passion flourished soon after law school when he decided to take a leap from the legal world to start a community free health center. He spends his free time fishing and hunting throughout the Chesapeake and assisting in the management his family’s B&B, the Hornsby House Inn.

Like many of you, Marti and her husband David, of 14 years, love to travel and visit the local “hot-spot” breweries. Her connection to craft brewing comes from her experiences of walking into a tasting room in another town and instantly feeling, you have friends here, pull up a bar stool and what can we pour ya. “I want to create an environment at Tradition Brewing Company where people are welcomed not as a guest but like they are among friends and family.
An entrepreneur at heart, Zack lends his experience in finance and business development to help create the organizational framework for Tradition Brewing Company. “Our company is founded on core values including hard work, innovation and amazing beer. I love craft beer because it tells a story. I appreciate the work and passion that goes into creating and delivering a quality product.”
