Tradition Brewing Company Announces Official Craft Beer Partnership with Christopher Newport University

Tradition Brewing Company and Christopher Newport University are proud to announce a partnership designating Tradition Brewing as the official craft beer partner of CNU. This exciting collaboration extends the current robust relationship between CNU and TBC, cementing them as hometown leaders in craft beer, academics, and athletics.

As part of the partnership, Tradition Brewing has produced a custom CNU branded beer, Captains Lager Amber Lager. Captains Lager is a specially crafted brew that pours amber in color, features a light and smooth malty sweetness, and is balanced by subtle hop bitterness from Galena and Cascade hops.

Beyond the beer, the partnership between CNU and Tradition Brewing showcases a shared commitment to excellence and a dedication to delivering exceptional experiences. “The work we do with Tradition is a great way to get students engaged and excited about analytical chemistry. It’s also a great way to get students to see the transition from classroom to the workforce,” says Dr. Ron Quinlan, Associate Professor of Chemistry at Christopher Newport University. Captains Lager is a testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of the brewing process and the science backing it, while promising a distinctive taste that reflects the unique character of CNU.

Releasing February 17th, Captains Lager Amber Lager will be available on draft and in cans at Tradition Brewing Company during its launch party from 2-6pm. TBC is located at 700 Thimble Shoals Blvd. Newport News, VA.

Captains Lager will receive a dedicated draft line in TBC’s taproom for year-round enjoyment and availability.  Look out for Captains Lager on draft and packaged in 4-pack 16 oz. cans in Hampton Roads retail locations, bars, and restaurants.
