Our Story

Pax was one of the first investors in Tradition back in 2016. Born and raised in Newport News, he came out of retirement and joined the team at the end of 2021.  Blessed with a strange capacity for corporate tedium, he handles the financial side of the brewery – counting beans, filling out paperwork, etc. “If only the world’s problems could be solved with a new spreadsheet!”  He likes woodworking, fixing things, playing with his grandkids, and section hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Kevin joined the crew in mid-December of 2021! He comes from a military family and is a veteran himself, serving six years in the US Army. He started getting interested in brewing beer while on a mountain top in Afghanistan. After a few homebrew batches, he knew that brewing was what he wanted to do. So, when the time came, he left the Army and has been brewing professionally since 2013. When Kevin isn’t brewing, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his son!

Abbie hails from Ohio but has split time between her education and the beverage industry in PA, LA, and now VA. Her various backgrounds in English, Landscape Architecture, and Bartending will help her round out our team through design and random knowledge. You will find her in the brewery wearing really big boots or working on designing our labels. Stop by and say hello!

Michele is a Hampton native and has a decade of experience in the craft beer industry. She has strong community ties in the Hampton Roads area and is well know in the local beer scene. She often is seen helping at the local community gardens and donating time to cook for those in need at local shelters. She enjoys sharing her love of craft beer with new and old friends. You’re most often going to see her enjoying a nice stout or porter no matter what time of year. She is also a fan of a well done sour. When she isn’t working you will find her on the road for a day trip to the mountains, taking in some live music, checking out a brewery, a new winery or spending time in her garden.
